Miracle B1 vitamin

Q: I have heard a lot said about the miracle B1 vitamin for ailing and repotted trees. I am very interested to know what effect this has on newly potted trees, and any other interesting information about it.

A: If it is a miracle medicine, it still has to be proved, but it most definitely helps to prevent "shock" after transplanting, especially after drastic root pruning. It also helps weak trees to re-establish themselves. It can be purchased at any chemist under the name Thiamine Hydrochloride BP (Vitamin B 1), each tablet containing 10Omg. I use 1 tablet per 2 litres of water when watering from the top and 1 tablet per 5 litres when dunking.
